Away for the weekend...

This weekend we are close to the middle of no where and enjoying the weekend at my mother in laws. We finally finished celebrating Christmas (yes you read that right) with the rest of our family. I am now the proud owner of an electric soap dispenser and my first set of crystal dishes...and some other great things but those are the two I was most excited about. What can I say I am easy to please. Coming here helps me relax and get back to myself again. Spending time with my hubby's sudo-brother BFF is always great too!!! The weather was also amazing today!!! I actually went outside with short sleeves and no coat. Granted it was still only about 38 out but that is a warm front compared to what it has been recently. We're expecting old man winter to rear his ugly face again this next week. No good...no good at all.

You know what else is no good? The fact that my favorite boys in blue (the jayhawks) lost their game today against OK state. Sad news. That would be only our second loss this season...but still. No bueno!

Miss. Lydia Jade turned a week old this past friday. I'm sad that I still haven't gotten to see her precious little self in person. Only three more weeks until spring break and a hopeful trip to see her and my favorite brother and sister in love! :D

Speaking of babies...it seems that everyone around me is either getting pregnant or popping them out. It's crazy! I know that my friends and I are all at that age of child bearing but wowzers! They arn't playin around! We have decided that we will wait five more years. If we still don't have our own we will start looking into adoption. I say five years because by then I will be done with school (hopefully Ryan will be too) and we will be moved into a place that can pass a home inspection. (Sad to say that right now we wouldn't...our rented townhouse only has one exit and the bedrooms are upstairs with no second exit but jumping out a window...crazy landlord)

Random question...would you ever adopt a child with a disability? This has been on my heart. I think if we were to have the opportunity to adopt a kiddo we would pick a deaf kid. Being that i'm an interpreter that doesn't sound too crazy...but it's not often that you hear "expecting" parents picking a kid to adopt that has a "disability." Maybe i'm just sheltered...

In other randomness we left our furry child at my mom's this weekend while we traveled out here to "the middle of no where." I miss her and will be elated to have her back with us tomorrow night. I heard she got into a mud war with her cousins....joy.

Well the laundry needs changed over and I hear a pillow calling my name. So...ready...for...summer....vacation.....

Love you all! Thanks for reading....
